Adolescent Dog

  (aka Manners Training, Basic Obedience)

This is a continuation of Puppy Foundation and is a great class to enroll dogs over 5 months of age or those dogs who are recent additions to your family. In these weekly once hour sessions, you will learn how to teach the following-- attention, sit, down, stand, stay, drop/leave it/off, go to mat, loose leash walking, coming when called -- AND, how to apply what you learn in your daily interactions with your dog.

Frequent play sessions will help to insure that good social skills between dogs are maintained and that owners know how and when to interrupt and redirect inappropriate interactions. Dogs learn to be attentive to their owners in a distracted environment. We will use food and play in training so please bring plenty of dog food and treats in a training pouch along with a favorite toy.

Please bring your puppy/dog's vacination records to the first class. Please do NOT feed a meal before any class! This is especially important for puppies and dogs that get car sick-- let me know right away if this is the case for your puppy or dog!

As for training equipment, your puppy must be wearing a flat nylon or leather ID collar even if you use a harness for walking on lead and a 6 foot nylon or leather leash (no chain OR flexi-leads are allowed). Advice on specific equipment will be given on a case by case basis.

This is a six week class held at No Bones About It at 1786 Beacon Street in Brookline. The fee is $210 payable by check or cash the day of class or in advance through Paypal (see below). To sign up, email vera@cooperativedog.com today!
